Inquiry Term 2

Kia Ora!
It is the last week of term, and so we are finishing our inquiry project we started a couple of weeks ago. 1 thing I enjoyed was the fact that we got to choose what we wanted to learn about.
The 1 thing that was hard was getting some information because the WiFi\internet was out so we had to use books. Some books didn't have the information I wanted.
2 facts I learnt was that some people think aliens will look like us, and another word for life in the universe is extraterrestrial life. The learning behind this task was to find the answer to a wondering I had about Planet Earth And Beyond. My wondering was:
Is there life in the universe?
So that was my inquiry photo.
Here is my slide:

Earthquakes Task

Kia ora!
Recently we have been doing earthquake tasks for literacy. I chose to do the reporter task. Part one was to add in information about my chosen earthquake. Part two was to film you reporting the earthquake. We had some trouble with the movie, so we couldn't put it in. What I found hard was to make the lighting in the green screen room right, and to have no see through things in the movie. What was easy was to find the green screen images for the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake. The learning behind this task was to learn about certain earthquakes and for me, how to use the green screen. I really liked this task because it was fun and challenging, and I always love a challenge.

Earthworms

Hello fellow bloggers! This week (25.3.19-29.3.19) we learnt about earthworms with Mrs Fletcher and Mrs H. We had to put ourselves into groups of 3-5 to collect earthworms. I was in a group with Annelise, Brooke S and Saphera (There was also me!). My presentation is still a work in progress because I have to still gather some information and finish a couple of tasks. What I found hard was to actually find the earthworms. What was easy was to create names for the worms and to find what the worms liked the best. Our worm names were:
Worm Number 1: Jarred
Worm Number 2: Jerry
Worm Number 3: Tiny Tony
We put black paper over one side of the container, to see what kind of place the worms liked best. Darkness or Light. Then our group put some grass, leaves and dead plants in the container. This stuff was the worms food. After that we put in some soil for the worms to play in. We made a playground. It was devastating to put the worms back in the bucket because we really liked learning about worms. I learnt that the earthworms didn't like the lino because it was too cold and that they liked the darkness. I think they liked the darkness because it felt like they were underneath the soil. Also because the probably wanted to hide from us and the birds. Here are the links: To Do Tasks Do,

See you next time bloggers!
Thanks, Georgia!

Tongariro National Park

In week 6 in Term 3, we went on  a Ski Trip down to Tongariro National Park. When we came back we made a factual slide on the things we learnt down there. Because it was Te Reo Language week when we did this, we translated every slide into Maori. Here is my friend and I's google slide about the Tongariro National Park.
